Paradigm Shift

3 PARADIGM SHIFTS: HOW I LEARNED TO ATTRACT MY DREAM CLIENTS, BUILD MY LIST AND SELL MY HIGH END PROGRAMS!

Dec 20, 2020

I still remember what it was like...

Heading to a corporate job every day that was slowly draining the life out of me. I knew I had to get out, but my corporate salary was very comfortable. Would I be able to earn enough in my own business to meet or exceed my current salary?

Perhaps that’s where you are right now. And if it is, let me just say, I understand. I understand what it feels like to know you were created for something more than punching a time card. I know the desire to travel all too well, to want to spend more time with your loved ones and to have an income that allows you to be generous while doing so. I understand the frustration of feeling like I’ll never be able to build my business while working my “day job” in the corporate world – there are only so many hours in the day.

But perhaps you’re like me in believing that work should be something you love, not something you loath. The average woman will spend 90,360 hours of their life in a day job – unless she chooses something different. I don’t know about you, but just hearing that number is soul crushing. That was why in June of 2015, I pushed all my hesitancies aside and I decided to go for it. I committed to creating my own freedom-based business – even though I was still working a 9-5.

HOW DID THINGS TURN OUT?

Within 90 days, I hit my first 8K month. Less than two months later, I turned in my resignation. Yes, you heard me correctly. After committing to myself to go for it, I was able to ditch my day job in less than 6 months so I could pursue work I love. And I’m here to tell you that you too can do that same.

If you want to learn more about how I was able to achieve this, I chronicled the 8 steps I followed to earn my first 8K Month (while still in my 9-5). You can learn exactly what those exact 8 steps were by downloading a free copy of my checklist here.

You might think my story is unique, but it’s not. In fact, there are many women out there like you and I who are now living their dream lifestyle while doing work they love in their own freedom-based business. They all have different skills and different dreams, but what we share is that we’ve followed a proven path to success. I no longer have 8K months – instead, I’m consistently earning 10-20K a month, my partner has resigned from his corporate job and we are heading to Bali to live life on our terms. All while doing work that gives me life.

As I followed those 8 steps to professional success and personal freedom, I encountered three major paradigm shifts in the process. These radical changes in my belief system proved to be the difference makers for me. If you’re ready to embrace something better for your life,  understanding these three mindset shifts will prove to be essential.

Paradigm Shift One: A Winning Mindset is One That Needs Practice

Whether you’re addressing your money mindset or removing your limiting beliefs, believing things once does not make them “stick”. Knowing you have something of value to offer does not internalize the thought that you’re worth it and what you’re embarking on is worth it. You’ll need to know in the pit of your stomach that no matter what, you can do this.

Otherwise, what happens to that belief when things don’t go as planned? Will you quit? Give up? Move on to the next shiny-object or promise for a more fulfilling life? There is tenacity and a dedication needed to succeed – and while that can be learned – for it to remain in the forefront of your mind, it must be practiced.

By actively working on my mindset and developing an ongoing mindset ritual, I was able to overcome doubts when they came up. When I needed to make a short-term sacrifice with my free time to gain a greater long-term goal of freedom, I was able to make this decision willingly and positively. Every day, the world sends us messages that work is hard, that money is difficult to come by, and that we’ll experience scarcity or lack unless we compromise. Protecting my mind by developing a positive and affirming mindset practice allowed me to push through any unforeseen challenges when they came up.

What are you currently doing to work on your mindset and open yourself up to the belief that you really can do work you love? If you haven’t started yet, here’s something simple you can begin to implement into your daily routine. Visit YouTube and look up messages by the likes of Bob Proctor, Tony Robbins, or Napoleon Hill. Commit to listening to 20 minutes of affirming messages every single day and after some time, your mind will subconsciously begin to shift as it starts to believe what it’s hearing. This may sound overly simplistic, but commit to this ritual and watch what happens.

Another way I create an uplifting mindset is by reading daily (for at least 30 minutes). Books I suggest are,  Think and Grow Rich by Wallace D Wattles, The Law of Divine Compensation by Marianne Williamson and Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker.

Paradigm Shift Two: In Order to Grow, It is Necessary to Invest in Myself

Before I committed myself to building my freedom-based business, I dabbled in a lot of “make money online” offers. I genuinely thought I could build my business alone. I was very wrong! When I ended up back in a corporate job after 3 months of the business guessing game, I knew I had to do what all successful entrepreneurs do – invest in myself and business. I didn’t have an extra $10,000 sitting in my bank account for professional coaching, and going into debt seemed like a recipe that would keep me in my corporate job even longer. There was always a good reason why not to invest, so at first I didn’t.

But now that I’m consistently earning 30 – 40K each and every month, I feel it’s only fair to be brutally honest with you. My fortune (and my mindset) radically shifted the second I began to invest in myself. The investment became an internal commitment to jump all in – to no longer delay the lifestyle I knew I was born to live.  My coach not only provided advanced business building strategies that I would not have known otherwise, she became a mirror of accountability to me. My mindset practices improved as she helped me recognize and overcome limiting beliefs that were holding me back. I was given a proven plan to follow on how to build my business that I didn’t need to think about or analyze, which was hugely beneficial to me while I was working in my 9-to-5. My time was my most valuable asset, so rather than search for something that “might” work, I was able to focus on following a proven plan of success.

As my time was so valuable, I also invested in outsourcing as much as I could as soon as I could. This, too, was an investment in me. I was able to focus more of my time on money-making activities (such as making sales and coaching women) rather than spend all my time behind a screen learning how to program a website or design a logo. The more focused I became with my time - doing only the work I loved - the faster I was able to generate income. And the faster I was able to generate income, the faster I was able to escape corporate! Outsourcing actually helped my mindset practice, because doing more of the things I loved and less of the things I didn’t allowed me to become more and more alive. I felt better, freer, and it helped me attract in more of my clients - further growing my business.

Paradigm Shift Three: I Realized I Get to Choose the Life I Want

This may sound somewhat obvious, but it’s unbelievable how few people understand the significance of choice. When working in the corporate world, the reality was that my boss set goals for me. If I did not meet those goals, I would no longer have a job. I was being paid to complete tasks - to perform. But as an entrepreneur, I was given the incredible gift of choice.

I am now able to choose who I want to work with. One of my first business-building tasks was to understand who my ideal client was and how I could best serve them. I realized at that time that I wanted to work with women like myself – women who were stuck in corporate jobs but longed to ditch their 9-to-5. And the more I began to understand my ideal client and how I could serve them, I found myself feeling more free to say no to things that were not fulfilling to me and I started to attract my dream clients effortlessly. I recognized the absolute important of knowing your ideal client better than they know themselves. In fact this is the very foundation on which your message, package and branding will be built. Until you know your ideal client, it is very difficult to sell packages they can’t wait to buy. This did more than just affect my business – it changed my world.

After signing my resignation, I became able to choose which hours I worked and set a schedule that was most comfortable to me. I’m now able to travel as I choose and my “office” is the anywhere with a wi-fi connection. I am able to spend more time with those I love, and politely move away from others I no longer care to interact with. Life can change very quickly when you commit to living your dream life NOW, not 10 years from now.

I want you to pause for a minute and start thinking about your life a year from now. Where are you working? Are you happy that you’re there? Are you able to pursue the things that bring you joy?

If being stuck in the same place next year that you are now is not and option, I want you to download my free checklist “8 Steps to 8K Months (While Still Working Your 9-to-5)”. Take some uninterrupted time and read it, then follow the steps yourself. My “guide” to success is all right there in those pages. There really is no magic bullet and no other secret - just follow an already proven path so you can do work you love by building a freedom-based business that allows you to kiss your corporate job goodbye.
